My wife wants to open a massage/spa/thalasso therapy centre with three floating cottages fitted out for massage etc and three shoreside cottages fitted with a jacuzzi. She is currently attending a 3 month course in massage and spa management at a local TESDA (vocational qualification) accredited college so that she can run the spa..

The municipality that issues our business permit says that all our massage therapists must have a TESDA qualification before they are able to attend to a client. They also say that this is a country wide requirement.

I know many places in Cagayan where very few of the girls are qualified and many have only a months experience and are taught by in house staff. With the very conservative provincial government in Camiguin that would be simply risking prosecution and a hefty fine.

If anyone planning to open a spa with massage facilities then make sure all the therapists are properly qualified and over age.
